Gary Vinciguerra

Gary Vinciguerra is in his ninth season as an assistant coach at Widener, working with the defensive backs.
In 2017, the defensive backfield for the Pride was at its very best, picking off 14 passes. Jordan Powell had a season to remember, garnering AFCA First Team, d3football.com First Team and Little AP All-America honors. He was the MAC Defensive player of the year and set an NCAA record with six touchdowns on the defensive side of the ball.
Vinciguerra competed as a defensive back for both the Naval Academy Prep School and the United States Naval Academy. Prior to joining the Pride for the 2010 season, he enjoyed a stint working with the Midshipmen’ defensive backs and has worked with other programs to help with their defensive techniques.
Vinciguerra has always attended numerous seminars in the area to better his coaching, including the Nike and Glazier Camps. In 2013 and 2014, Vinciguerra served as head coach for the Navy in the first Army-Navy arena football game in US history. The game was part of Military Appreciation Night for the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League.
