Andy Marino is in his first season as Widener’s offensive line coach. Marino arrives after serving the last three seasons for nationally ranked Delaware, first as an offensive graduate assistant and then as the tight ends, tackles and punting coach. His work with the offensive line saw the team close second in the Colonial Athletic Association in 2010 with 184.4 rushing yards per contest and 27.9 points per game. The offense that year was 19th in the country with 401.8 yards per contest. He coached a pair of All-Americas in Gino Gradkowski and Andrew Pierce, was the Blue Hens pro liaison and handled recruiting in Northern Virginia, and both Eastern and Western Maryland. Marino also was the offensive line coach in 2009 for Whitehall High School. He helped break down film on all opponents and also led the team’s field goal and PAT units. Marino competed at Middle Atlantic Conference-rival Lycoming, where he was a three-year starter and two-year captain. He was presented the Lee Calistri Award from the team, who exemplifies leadership, determination, dedication and personal sacrifice for the benefit of the team. Marino graduated Lycoming in 2009 with a B.A. in History and Secondary Social Studies Education. He earned his M.Ed in Higher Education Administration from Delaware in 2010.
