CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Women's Soccer and Skidmore battled to a 0-0 draw on Saturday evening.
The Pride move to 2-0-1 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Widener came out attacking early, with Madelyn Fisher testing Skidmore goalkeeper Sophia Sayers just 2:59 into the match. The Pride continued to create opportunities throughout the opening half, with Burke and Avery Drumbore adding shots before Burke forced another save from Sayers at 25:43. Widener continued to pressure the Skidmore defense, but the visitors found their best chances late in the half. Araba Abanyie turned away shots from Olivia Chandler at 37:59 and Avery Bush at 43:52 to keep the match scoreless heading into halftime.
- The Pride carried their pressure into the second half, with Isabella Losada and Erin Quinn each putting shots on target that were saved by Sayers. Widener continued to search for the breakthrough and came close at 70:11 when Laila Lorenti struck the top woodwork. The Pride generated another late push, with Allison Gomez recording two shots in the final 10 minutes, including an 83:06 attempt that Sayers saved. Skidmore threatened once more in the closing minutes, but Abanyie denied Olivia Chandler at 87:02 to preserve the shutout as the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
