HOBOKEN, N.J. -Â Widener Field Hockey was shutout by Stevens, falling by a final score of 3-0 at DeBaun Athletic Complex.
With the loss, the Pride's record moved to 0-2 on the season.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Widener mustered up five shots while Stevens recorded 22 shots. 16 of the Ducks' shots were on goal while the Pride put three shots on goal.
- Stevens had 19 penalty corners while Widener recorded seven penalty corner opportunities.
- Emma Korenthal made 12 saves in goal for the Pride.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Stevens got off to a quick start, scoring their first goal of the game just a little over six minutes into the contest. Neither team would score the rest of the half, largely in part due to Korenthal making three saves in the second period to keep the deficit at one.
- Widener had an opportunity to score early in the third period but back-to-back Karly Bervinchak shots were saved, keeping the score 1-0 in favor of the Ducks. Stevens doubled their lead with just over two minutes left in the third quarter before later tacking on an insurance goal with just over two minutes to go in the final frame of play, sealing the 3-0 Stevens victory.

The Pride will travel out west to take on Lancaster Bible College on Wednesday, Sept. 9. The game is scheduled to start 7:00 p.m. at Willis & Martha Herr Stadium.
