CAMDEN, N.J. - Widener Women's Volleyball battled Rutgers-Camden on the road, ultimately falling to the Scarlet Raptors in four sets.
The Pride moves to 0-2 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rutgers Camden opened the match with an early 3-1 advantage before Widener battled back to stay within one at 4-3. The Pride then pulled even at 7-7 behind kills from Kramer and an ace from Towers. The Scarlet Raptors responded with a strong stretch, scoring six of the next seven points to take a 13-8 lead. Rutgers Camden continued to build its advantage, reaching 17-8 before Widener answered with a kill from Kaitlyn Guessford. The Pride continued to fight late, cutting the deficit to 24-16, but the Scarlet Raptors closed out the opening set, 25-16.
- Widener came out with a strong response, taking an early 4-2 lead before extending the advantage to 10-3. Towers sparked the run with back-to-back aces, while Bottino and Guessford added kills to keep the Pride in control. Rutgers Camden gradually chipped away at the deficit, pulling within 10-6 before Widener pushed its lead back to 15-6. The Scarlet Raptors answered with a run of their own, eventually narrowing the margin to 19-13. Widener continued to battle and held a 24-16 advantage late. Rutgers Camden scored the final six of seven points of the set, but the Pride ultimately held strong, winning 25-22.
- Rutgers Camden jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead to open the third set. Widener answered with a Kramer kill, but the Scarlet Raptors continued to control the pace and stretched their advantage to 12-5. The Pride fought to remain within reach, with kills from Zimmerman and Chronister helping Widener pull to within six at 15-9. Rutgers Camden responded with another strong stretch, building a 24-10 lead. Widener refused to go quietly, scoring three straight points, including back-to-back Zimmerman kills, to cut the deficit to 24-13. The Scarlet Raptors then finished the set, 25-13, taking a 2-1 lead in the match.
- Rutgers Camden again grabbed the early momentum, opening the fourth set with a 3-0 lead. Bottino answered with a kill, and Widener stayed within striking distance at 6-4 after a Towers ace and a Mary Carter kill. The Scarlet Raptors then created separation with a 6-1 stretch, moving ahead 12-5. Widener continued to battle, with Zimmerman and Kramer contributing kills as Rutgers Camden maintained a 20-9 advantage. The Pride mounted a late push, scoring six of the next eight points to cut the deficit to 22-15, with Kramer and Bottino recording kills during the run. The Scarlet Raptors, however, closed out the set 25-15 to secure the four-set victory.
