CHESTER, Pa. – Widener University Athletics announces the addition of Kyle Dickinson to its staff and Head Women's Cross Country and Track and Field Coach, bringing more than a decade of coaching experience to the Pride.

Dickinson joins Widener following a five-year stint at Eastern Mennonite University, where he served as head track and field coach after spending two seasons as the program's Associate Head Coach. During his tenure, Dickinson helped guide the program to significant individual and team success while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the entire track and field program.

During his time at Eastern Mennonite, Dickinson's athletes accumulated more than 13 school records over a five-year span, along with three All-Americans and more than 40 new top-10 all-time performances. His student-athletes also earned multiple All-Region honors and ODAC Athlete of the Week awards. Among the program's notable individual accomplishments were the 2023 USTFCCCA South Region Field Athlete of the Year, two VaSID Women's Field Athlete of the Year honors and the 2023 ODAC Field Athlete of the Meet.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Dickinson managed the program's budget, worked closely with admissions counselors and maintained the program's recruiting database through Front Rush. He also served on the university's new track and field facility committee, participated in alumni outreach efforts and served as a game manager for various athletic events across the department.

Dickinson previously spent nearly three years as an Assistant Track and Field coach at Penn State Harrisburg from 2017 to 2020. He was responsible for individualized instruction and training development for sprints, hurdles, multi-events and vertical and horizontal jumps while also helping manage the program's day-to-day operations. During his time with the program, athletes rewrote more than 20 school records and earned 10 conference Athlete of the Week honors.

Prior to Penn State Harrisburg, Dickinson served as an Assistant Track and Field coach at Shippensburg University from 2014 to 2017. He specialized in horizontal jumps, sprints and hurdles while also monitoring student-athletes' academic progress. His athletes earned four All-America honors and four conference championships in jumps and hurdles.
Dickinson also brings experience coordinating large-scale track and field events. From 2011 to 2014, he served as a high school meet coordinator at Shippensburg, helping supervise the Pennsylvania state high school track meet, which hosted more than 500 athletes. He coordinated five field-event stations, directed more than 20 workers and ensured events remained on schedule.

Dickinson is a USATF Level 1 Track and Field Coach and brings extensive experience in recruiting, student-athlete development, event management, NCAA and conference compliance, budgeting and program administration to the Widener Athletics staff.

A former collegiate student-athlete at Shippensburg, Dickinson earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the university in 2014. He later earned a Master of Science in Sport Management with a concentration in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration from California University of Pennsylvania in 2019.
