Football Announces 2026 Schedule

6/8/2026 2:00:00 PM

CHESTER, Pa. - Widener Football head coach Mike Barainyak announced the 2026 schedule which features four home contests, a non-conference road game, and a full slated conference lineup.

"The countdown to the start of the 2026 season is officially on," said Coach Barainyak. "The schedule is out, the energy is high, and we're ready to get back to work as a team in August. We gained valuable time on task with a young group in 2025 and took our lumps. They all came back focused in the winter and had a great spring, so we're excited to see those guys compete and take the next step in 2026. I am extremely excited to see our alumni, fans, and family at Quick and on the road."

THE 2026 SCHEDULE
"The schedule is challenging opening with a long road trip" for their only non-conference matchup to kickoff the season on Sep. 5 in Beaver Falls, Pa. The second contest in program history puts the Pride up against Geneva for a 3 p.m. game. Last year's home opener bowed to Widener with a final of 44-18.

"Only having four guaranteed home games is challenging, so we need to come together quickly in training camp and callous ourselves for an always demanding Middle Atlantic Conference slate." Conference play immediately begins on Sep. 12 against Alvernia for the first home contest on the newly laid Hirschmann Field turf. The Pride make a trip to Madison, N.J. to battle FDU-Florham after last year's overtime homecoming 20-17 win.

October opens with a visit from Albright for homecoming and the Hall of Fame celebration on Oct. 10. The Pride head to St. Davids, Pa. to visit the defending conference champions Eastern in a noon kickoff. October concludes with a Halloween 1 p.m. kickoff against Stevenson at Quick Stadium.

Two games in November wrap up the season with the first heading to Dallas, Pa. to visit Misericordia. The regular season concludes with the annual Keystone Cup and senior day against Delaware Valley.
