CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Baseball will host the first round of the MAC Commonwealth tournament after securing the two seed.
The first pitch of the best of three series is set for Friday May 1 at 3:30 p.m. in Chester, Pa. Widener will face off against the Hood Blazers.
The Pride finished the regular season with a 20-18 overall record and a 13-8 MAC Commonwealth record. This season included two conference series sweeps over Albright and Hood.
The Blazers finished the season with a 16-23 overall record with a 10-11 record in MAC Commonwealth play. Hood's season included a crucial three game sweep over the Stevenson Mustangs.
KEY PLAYER TO WATCH
Kevin Bukowski has had an unforgettable 2026 campaign. The Pride's first baseman finished the season with a .354 batting average and a team leading 1.175 OPS. Bukowski tallied 46 hits and led the team with 13 home runs and 46 hits.
Senior outfielder
Ryan Bauerle has been a consistent contributor in the leadoff spot this season. Bauerle had a .367 batting average with a .951 OPS. He led the team with 47 hits while driving in 19 runs. The senior also led the team in stolen bases with 23.
Sophomore infielder
Brandon Yoder made a big impact in his first year with the program. Yoder had an outstanding .383 batting average with 1.045 OPS. He totaled 44 hits including 10 doubles, three triples, and two home runs.
Junior shortstop
Sean Burke was a key player for the Pride in the field and at the Plate. Burke had a .283 batting average with a .967 OPS. He finished second on the team in home runs with five and drove in 27 runs. He also added on 10 doubles and a triple.
SEMIFINAL GAME INFORMATION
MAC Commonwealth ticket pricing are as follows: $8 (adults), $6 (senior citizens 65+), and $6 (youth 7-17). MAC students with ID and children six and under with an adult get in for free.
