CHESTER, Pa. - The Pride couldn't heat up at the plate, as Delaware Valley secured a doubleheader sweep.
Widener Softball drops to 6-18 on the season and remains 1-7 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE
After a scoreless opening inning, Delaware Valley broke through in the second, using an RBI double and a Widener error to take a 2-0 lead.
The Aggies added to their advantage in the third, highlighted by a solo home run and a two-run double to extend the lead to 5-0.
Widener looked to respond with multiple baserunners throughout the game, including a pair of hits from Clymer, but could not push a run across.
The Pride's best chances came in the middle innings, but Delaware Valley's defense held strong to keep Widener off the board.
Widener was unable to mount a late rally, as Delaware Valley closed out the 5-0 win in the opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO
Delaware Valley jumped out to an early lead in the first, using a two-run double to take a 2-0 advantage.
Widener answered in the bottom half, capitalizing on a Delaware Valley error to get on the board and cut the deficit to 2-1.
The Aggies extended their lead in the second with a two-run single, making it 4-1.
Delaware Valley added on again in the third with a two-run home run to push the lead to 6-1.
Widener responded in the third, as Ferraro delivered an RBI double to score Tong and make it 6-2.
The Aggies tacked on one more run in the fourth to extend the lead to 7-2.
Widener threatened in the fifth with runners on base, but could not bring a run across.
The Pride were unable to rally late, as Delaware Valley held on to complete the doubleheader sweep.
