GLENSIDE, Pa. - Widener's 11-run explosion in game one highlighted the day, though Arcadia answered late to claim game two.
Widener Softball moves 12-22 on the season and 4-8 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE
Widener wasted no time taking control, erupting for four runs in the top of the first. Hits from Carney, Ferraro, and Clymer, along with a walk from Tong and an RBI fielder's choice from Mayorga, helped the Pride jump out to a 4-0 lead.
Arcadia answered with a run in the bottom half, but Widener kept the pressure on in the second. RBI knocks from Tong and Clymer, paired with aggressive baserunning and an Arcadia error, pushed the lead to 8-1.
After a few quiet innings, the Pride broke through again in the fifth. Hernandez delivered a two-RBI triple, and Ferraro followed with an RBI double to extend the advantage to 11-1.
Arcadia managed to scratch across one run in the bottom of the fifth, but the early offensive surge proved more than enough as Widener secured the run-rule victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO
Widener threatened early, putting a runner in scoring position in the first and getting a double from Sissons in the second, but couldn't capitalize.
Arcadia broke through in the second inning, taking advantage of defensive miscues to score two runs, then added another in the third on an RBI groundout to extend the lead to 3-0.
The Pride got on the board in the fifth. Gomez singled to spark the rally, and Hernandez brought home the lone run with a sacrifice fly to cut the deficit to 3-1.
Arcadia responded in the bottom half with an insurance run following another Widener error, pushing the lead to 4-1.
Widener put runners on in the sixth but couldn't bring them home, and went quietly in the seventh as Arcadia held on to take game two.

The Pride remain on the road, as they head to Camden, N.J., on Thursday, April 23, to take on Rutgers Camden in a doubleheader. Game times are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
