FREDERICK, Md. – Goal streaks from Widener Women's Lacrosse to prevail to a 14-11 win over Hood on the road.
The 14-11 win moves the Pride to 9-6 and 3-2 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Pride opened the campaign on the attack with Lynch winning the first draw. An unsuccessful offensive trip save the Pride a strong defensive battle before Ruggiero took the first shot of the game. A free position shot from Krohn would give two other shots to the Pride. The Blazers struck first with back-to-back goals before Ruggiero put the Pride on the board with 2:58 left. A late up goal from Krohn would give the Pride a 3-2 score heading into two.
- To open the second, the Blazers jumped to a 5-2 lead before Gianna Scaliti capitalized on a Blazers green card. The momentum continued to swing as Lynch scored from Krohn to make the score 5-4. The Pride would head into half down 5-4 after Suydam forced a late turnover.
- Warlow opened the second with a save to transition the Pride to a Ruggiero unassisted goal. Ruggiero would win the next draw and score another unassisted to take a 6-5 lead. The swing would push deeper towards the Pride as Mantz won the draw to give Ava Leporati an unassisted goal with 10:45 left. Another green card on the Blazers would give an offensive stretch for the Pride as they continued their run with a Lynch and Farina unassisted goal. Mantz put in a free position goal after a Blazers timeout before they scored two to end the third down 10-7.
- With possession favoring the Pride, Mantz would hit the crossbar before putting in a free position goal with 13:41 left. The Blazers would answer promptly while they mounted a short comeback. Mantz continued the free position goals to give Lynch and Farina goals to take a 14-9 lead with 5:13 left. The defense dug in as the Blazers late goals put the Pride on their heals. The game would favor the Pride 14-11.
