ASTON, Pa. - Widener built an early lead in game one but fell on a late rally before being held scoreless in game two, dropping both contests to Neumann University.
Widener Softball drops to 9-21 on the season and 2-8 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE
Widener was held scoreless in the first while Neumann University took an early 2-0 lead behind aggressive baserunning.
The Pride answered with a big second inning. After loading the bases, Sissons drove in a run, and Carney followed with a two-run double to give Widener the lead. Tong added a bases-loaded walk to cap a four-run frame and make it 4-2.
Widener extended the lead in the third as Carney delivered again with an RBI single, pushing the advantage to 5-2. Neumann responded in the bottom half with two runs to cut it to 5-4.
Both teams were held scoreless over the next three innings, with Widener maintaining a slim lead into the seventh.
In the final frame, Neumann University rallied, tying the game on a fielder's choice before a walk-off single sealed a 6-5 decision in game one.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO
Widener was kept off the board early as Neumann University struck first in the second inning, using a wild pitch and an RBI single to take a 2-0 lead.
The Knights added another run in the third on an RBI single to extend the advantage to 3-0.
Widener's best chance came in the fourth when Yogis doubled and advanced to third, but the Pride were unable to bring her home.
Neumann broke the game open in the fourth inning, capitalizing on multiple hits and defensive miscues to plate five runs and stretch the lead to 8-0.
Widener threatened in the fifth, loading the bases with two outs, but a pop up ended the rally as the Pride were held scoreless in game two.

The Pride head back to Chester, Pa., for Senior Day on Saturday, April 18, as they take on Hood College in a doubleheader. Game times are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
