CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Baseball puts up 15 hits including three home runs in a back and forth win against the Rutgers Camden.
The Pride are now 10-11 on the season and 5-4 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Pride struck first in the bottom of the first inning. After Ryan Bauerle drew a lead off walk, he was able to make his way to third after a stolen base and an error by the Scarlet Raptors. Brendan Raven drove him in with a sacrifice fly to give the Pride a 1-0 lead. Sam Benedetti followed that up with an RBI single to right center to score Brandon Yoder, giving Widener a 2-0 lead after one. Rutgers Camden answered back in the top of the second, tying the game with a pair of RBI singles. Sean Burke quickly gave the Pride the lead back as he blasted solo shot to right field, making the score 3-2 after two innings. The Pride offense got hot in the bottom of the third. After Widener loaded the bases with zero out, Kevin Bukowski scored on a wild pitch making the score 4-2. JP Diguiseppe then made it a 5-2 Widener lead with an RBI single to left center. Daniel Giordano followed that up with a sacrifice fly to center field, making it a 6-2 lead. Rutgers Camden cut into the Widener lead in the top of the fourth after a lead off double followed by a sacrifice fly made the score 6-3. The Pride continued to add on to their lead in the bottom of the fourth. Ryan Bauerle and Brandon Yoder started things off with back-to-back singles through the left side. Kevin Bukowski followed that up with a shot over the left center field wall to make it a 9-3 ball game.
- The Scarlet Raptors gained some much-needed momentum in the top of the fifth. After two singles to start the inning, Rutgers Camden capitalized by hitting a three-run home run to right center making it a 9-6 game. Rutgers Camden continued to chip away in the top of the sixth, capitalizing on a bases loaded opportunity with a single to drive in two making it a 9-8 game. In the top of the seventh, the Scarlet Raptors were able to scratch across one run after loading the bases to tie the game at nine. Ryan Bauerle came up clutch for the Pride in the bottom of the eighth, as he blasted a solo shot to left center to give the Pride a 10-9 lead. After a Brandon Yoder double, Brendan Raven and Myles Calderbank would both add on a run with an RBI single giving the Pride a 12-9 lead heading into the ninth. Etan Lytle cam in the ninth and shut the door giving Widener a 12-9 win.
