CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Baseball found themselves in an early hole in a loss to the No.11 Salisbury Seagulls.
The Pride are now 10-12 on the season and 5-4 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Seagulls' offense came ready to play in the top of the first inning. The Seagulls took a 4-0 lead after tallying four hits and executing two sacrifice bunts. The Pride got their first run of the day in the bottom of the second. Brandon Yoder got things started with a lead off double before Brendan Raven drove him in with a single through the right side. After a quiet third, the Seagulls added on one more in the fourth with an RBI double down the left field line making it a 5-1 game. Salisbury made it a 6-1 game in the top of the fifth, scoring a run on a sacrifice bunt.
- Salisbury continued to build on their lead in the sixth, making it an 8-1 game with two sacrifice flies. After Salisbury made the score 9-1 in the seventh, the Pride cut into the lead in the bottom of the eighth. Ryan Bauerle got things started with a triple to centerfield before Kevin Bukowski drove him in with a single to left center making it a 9-2 game. The Seagulls would add on two more in the top of the ninth while the Pride were unable to get anything going, ultimately falling to Salisbury by a final score of 11-2.
