CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Women's Lacrosse honor five on senior day with senior Alex Krohn scoring a go-ahead goal late in the fourth to hand Arcadia their first loss.

The 11-9 win moves the Pride to 6-4 in the regular season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Pride opened the 60 minute campaign attacking strong with shots from Alyssa Ruggiero and Scaliti. The Knights would strike first at 9:55 with back-to-back goals to take a 2-0 lead. The Pride defense forced a clock violation to give Scaliti and unassisted goal to put the Blue and Gold on the board with 5:23 left. Jarliah Ferko picked up a free position goal to tie the game while Krohn took the lead with 2:01 left. The first ended with the Pride up 3-2.

  • The hot streak continued as an up goal gave Mantz her 28th goal of the season off a free position. A Knights draw control would be quickly ended with a Thornton forced turnover to give Ruggiero an unassisted goal with 12:00 left in the second. Warlow's back-to-back saves would allow Lynch to score to take a 6-2 lead that forced a Knight's timeout. A late surge from the Knights would send the score to 6-5 Widener at half.

  • Madison Phillips would fore a turnover out of half before the Knights tied the game at six. Lynch would find a goal off a Krohn pass to take a 7-6 lead at 8:19. Ava Leporati's late forced turnover would hold the Knights attack low. A team draw control by the Knights would quickly end up in the Pride position off a Ruggiero turnover and Scaliti free position goal. The score after three was tied at eight.

  • Warlow made three quick saves to open the fourth before Lynch scored an up goal to take a 9-8 lead. Mantz would score a goal in front of the cage off a Krohn pass in to take a 10-0 lead with 5:51 left. The Knights would force their way back in the game with a goal shortly after but Krohn would seal the win with a late up goal. An AP at the final draw would go the Pride's way as they ran the time out to take an 11-9 win on senior day.
