CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Baseball secures a mid-week win against the Haverford College Fords.
The Pride are now 7-9 on the season and 3-3 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the Fords went quietly in the top of the first, the Pride struck first in the bottom half. Ryan Bauerle drew a walk, stole second, advanced to third on a fielder's choice, then scored on a wild pitch to give Widener a 1-0 lead. The Pride added on two more in the bottom of the second. Braedyn Clinton drove in the first run after perfectly executing a hit and run for an RBI single. Ryan Bauerle drove in the second run with a sacrifice fly to right field, giving the Pride a 3-0 lead. Widener threatened in the bottom of the third after a Bukowski walk, a Brandon Yoder Double, and a Ryan Madden walk but were unable to capitalize on the opportunity.
- After a quiet fourth from both offenses, Brandon Yoder and Brian Fitzpatrick both drove in a run with a double giving the Pride a 5-0 lead. The Pride continued to add on in the bottom of the sixth as Braedyn Clinton drove his first career home run over the left center field wall to make it a 6-0 game. JP DiGuiseppe then singled and Ryan Bauerle scored on a throwing error to increase the lead to 7-0. Haverford gained some momentum in the top of the seventh, scoring three runs to cut the Widener lead to four. Haverford would score two more in the ninth but were unable to mount a comeback giving the Pride a 7-5 win.
