ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Widener Women's Lacrosse wraps up Spring Break with an overtime win at St. Mary's of Maryland.
The 9-8 win moves the Pride to 4-2 in the regular season and their third win in a row.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Jessica Mantz would lead the Pride with three goals and an assist on offense.
- Claire Lynch would score three with the game winning overtime goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Pride would start with a quick draw control by Alyssa Ruggiero while Lynch let one fly. Warlow would make a free position save on the other side of the field while Lynch did the same. The Seahawks would strike first with 6:12 to go in the first. A slow Pride start would end the first period down 3-0.
- Warlow would open the second period with a free position save. A free position attempt would lead to Lynch putting the Pride on the board with 8:22 remaining in the second with a free position shot. The Seahawks would answer with a goal of their own before a back-and-forth emerged. The first half would end with the Pride down 4-1.
- A halftime would give the Pride time to get into a rhythm as Avery Farina scored an unassisted goal with 13:21 left. Warlow continued making saves to keep the Seahawks out. Mantz saw a draw control and a free position goal to make the score 5-3. St. Mary's would call a timeout. Warlow would make a save with 2:43 left to transition the Pride to an Ava Leporati goal off an Alex Krohn pass, the score was 6-4. The third ended with St. Mary's leading 7-4.
- With the final 15 to play, Gianna Scaliti would put in a goal off a Mantz pass to make the score 7-5. Mantz rattled one off the post while Jarliah Ferko's shot would be saved. The Seahawks would see back-to-back failed clears while Lynch picked up her 11th goal of the season with 8:42 left. Thornton found a ground ball that gave Mantz an unassisted goal with 7:27 to play that forced a St. Mary's timeout. A yellow card was issued to the Seahawks to give Mantz an up goal out of a critical timeout. The Pride forced overtime after 60 minutes of regulation.
- Thornton forced a huge turnover on defense to give the Pride a good clear. Lynch would capitalize with an up goal for her 12th of the season to end the game with a final of 9-8.
