CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Women's Basketball took control early and never looked back against the Hood Blazers.
The Pride are now 15-4 on the season and 6-2 in conference play.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Riley Stackhouse led all scorers with 15 points, shooting 6-of-9 from the field while adding on a steal.
- Lindsay Kutz turned in an all-around performance with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 6 steals.
- Giada Palmieri was dominant in the paint, finishing with 12 points and a team-high 7 rebounds off the bench.
- Meredith Dufner added 11 points on efficient shooting, going 4-of-8 from the floor and 3-of-5 at the foul line.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Widener set the tone early, forcing multiple turnovers and holding Hood to just four points in the first five minutes. The Pride defense stayed solid for the remainder of the quarter, holding Hood to 11 points. Riley Stackhouse and Lindsay Kutz helped spark the offense as Widener closed the period with a 18–11 advantage.
- Th Pride offense got hot in the second quarter, started by layups from Daniels, Kutz, and Palmieri. Meredith Dyfner and Stackhouse contributed clutch baskets halfway through the quarter to help build the Pride lead. Widener entered halftime in control, taking a 41–20 lead after limiting Hood to single-digit scoring in the quarter.
- After the break, Hood responded by hitting early shots, but Kutz and Stackhouse answered, building on the Widener lead. Palmieri and Marie Meyers controlled the paint as Widener cruzed to a 59-32 lead entering the final frame.
