HOW IT HAPPENED

Widener set the tone early by attacking inside with Riley Stackhouse and Lindsay Kutz combining for multiple early baskets. The teams traded scores throughout the opening 10 minutes, as Widener was able to answer every time the Mustangs looked like they were gaining momentum second-chance opportunities. The Pride were able to escape quarter number one with a slim 19-18 lead.

The Mustangs took the momentum early in the second quarter and made the Pride play from behind. Despite the run, the Pride stayed within range behind a strong quarter from Giada Palmieri and Kutz. Stackhouse was able to connect on a three right before half giving the Pride a 42-37 advantage at halftime.

Coming out of halftime, Widener delivered one of its strongest stretches of the game. Stackhouse caught fire during the period, scoring from multiple levels, while Kutz continued to dominate on both ends of the floor. While the Pride scored in bunches, Stevenson stayed with them keeping the Widener lead at seven heading into the final frame.

Widener picked up right where they left off in the fourth, as Kutz and Stackhouse both connected on early threes along with clutch scoring inside from Palmieri and Avalynn Baer. The pride offense stayed hot until the final whistle as they secured a 91-76 conference win over Stevenson.
