Gomez and Klein Help a 2-1 Win Over King’s

WILKES BARRE, Pa. – A 46th minute goal from Reilly Klein helped Widener Women's Soccer to their second win of the season over King's.
 
The 2-1 win moves the Pride to 2-1 in the season.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
  • Allison Gomes and Reilly Klein score a goal to lead the Pride.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Pride opened early with a Gracelyn Sarni shot that would be immediately followed by a Gomez goal. On the goal, Tatum Stielow would register an assist. The Pride would pick up a yellow card at the 32nd minute mark before Ceceila Deroian would rip a shot that would fall far right. The half ended with a 1-0 Pride advantage.
  • Out of halftime, the Pride would score quickly with a 46th minute goal from Klein. Charlotte Burke would dish an assist to make the score 2-0 in favor of the Pride. The pressure would continue with back-to-back corners as Sarni sent one over the crossbar. Abby Picollo would pick up a yellow card in the 61st minute. Erin Flanagan would have a go at net with a shot that fell left of the goal as the Pride held on to a 2-1 win over King's.

Widener returns to Hirschmann Field on Wednesday, September 10 to take on the 2-1 (0-0 Centennial) Ursinus Bears. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
