ASTON, Pa. - Widener Women's Volleyball pick up their first win of the season in convincing fashion, sweeping Cedar Crest 3-0 in the opening match of the Knights Invitational at Neumann University.
The Pride improve to 1-4 on the season and remain 0-0 in conference play.

The Pride jumped out to an 8–4 lead behind early kills from Bottino, Mira Canali, and Carter, along with two strong blocks. Bottino and Ava Kramer added multiple kills to extend the margin to 14–9, keeping the Pride in control. Bottino totaled four kills in the set, while Kramer and Canali added a combined six, all fueled by five assists from Campbell Chronister. A late 11–6 run capped by a Kramer kill and a Canali finish closed out a convincing 25–15 win to give the Pride the early advantage of 1-0.

The Pride controlled the second set from the start, racing to a 9–3 lead behind two kills from Kristen Vacca, one from Bottino and Canali, and a service ace by Carter. The Pride's attack stayed balanced with four kills from Bottino, plus strikes from Kramer and Canali. A kill from Airyn Zimmerman and back-to-back kills from Vacca in the final stretch set up match point. A Falcon error finished off a decisive 25–10 win for a 2–0 lead.

The Pride built an early 11–3 advantage, powered by a kill and two aces from Kramer, plus kills from Canali, Vacca, Bottino, and Kayla Sicher. The Falcons rallied with an 8–0 run to close the gap to 14–12, but the Pride responded with kills from Bottino and Kramer to stay in front. Carter sparked the final push with a service ace and two assists, while Kramer and Keara Zaranski added late kills. Bottino sealed the frame with her sixth kill of the set, giving the Pride a 25–20 win and a clean 3–0 sweep.
