CHESTER, Pa. - The Pride battled to a dramatic 4–3 victory over DeSales in a nail-biter.
The Pride improve to 5-3 on the season and remain 0-0 in conference play.

Widener set the tone early. The Pride earned a penalty corner in the 12th minute and followed with a flurry of shots, including strong looks from Brie Mallozzi and Karly Bervinchak, but DeSales' goalkeeper turned them aside. Despite controlling much of the quarter, the Pride couldn't quite break through before the horn.

The Bulldogs struck first midway through the second, but the Pride responded with a surge of energy. Quartapella leveled the score at 1–1 off a feed from Kendall Blankenship, swinging momentum back to the Pride. Just minutes later, Hakes netted her first goal of the season to give the Pride a 2–1 lead. The Pride kept the pressure on with multiple penalty corners and shots before halftime, heading into the break with the advantage.

The Pride opened the second half with early offensive pressure, forcing a save and earning a penalty corner within the first minute. The Bulldogs managed to pull even at 2–2 off a goal from Jordyne Stong, but the Pride refused to back down. The Pride created a chance off a corner and nearly regained the lead, while goalkeepers Arwen Fithian and Lilly Rejrat came up big late. Rejrat made a crucial save on a Bulldogs' penalty stroke in the final seconds of the quarter to keep the game tied heading into the fourth.

The final frame delivered non-stop drama as both teams battled to break the deadlock. Widener struck first when Thompson buried a goal off a feed from Mallozzi, putting the Pride back in front 3–2. The Bulldogs continued to press and nearly found the equalizer on a penalty stroke, but Rejrat came through with another clutch save to keep the Pride ahead. The Bulldogs finally pulled even at 3–3 with just over a minute to play, but the Pride wasted no time answering. Moments later, Quartapella scored the decisive goal off a setup from Bervinchak, sealing a thrilling 4–3 victory in regulation.
