READING, Pa. – Widener Football struggles to contain Albright in a tough loss on the road.
The 35-9 final score moves the Pride to 1-3 in the regular season and 1-2 in the MAC.

- Caiden Leszczynski led the Pride as quarterback with 167 yards and a touchdown.
- Kareem McCoy's ground game showed a net of 21 yards.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Pride would begin the 60 minute battle on defense to hold the Lions to a short 20-yard drive. The Pride offense struggled on the first drive with a three and out before sending the ball away. The Lions held the ball for a long drive as they tried to hold the Lions. McMillen and Miceli would make a handful of tackles along with Ryan Wilson. Dean Brown would force a fumble that would be recovered by the Lions before they punched in the first score. The quarter ended 7-0 in favor of the Lions.
- The second quarter opened with a Lions touchdown while the offense continued to struggle. A short drive resulted with a Dalton Wickel rush for 7-yards and a short pass to Wickel before sending the ball back. The Pride would hold the Lions to a 4th and 2 before forcing a turnover on downs with 5:47 left. A long drive on offense would put the Pride on the ALB15 before turning the ball over. The Pride headed to the locker room down 21-0.
- Out of half, Leszczynski would drive the Pride with passes to Jones, and Dean Herr. A Michael Turner 13-yard run moved the chains again before Fred Adler hit a 29-yard field goal to put the Pride on the board. The score was 21-3 with 10:10 left in the third. The next offensive series continued to show success as McCoy moved the chains and a 32-yard ball to Malachi Holmes put the Pride on the ALB5. McCoy snagged a pass to score and make the score 28-9 after a failed two point conversion. The score after three was 28-9 in favor of Albright.
- Brandon Catherine and Miceli held the Lions and forced a punt. The Lions would punch in a touchdown with 9:40 left and the Pride would struggle again on the offensive side. Jalen Mills snagged his first tackle and Chris Purnell broke up a pass to force a Lions punt. The Pride would end the game with a final score of 35-9.
