Offensive Explosion Gives Women’s Lacrosse First Win of the Season

The Pride Scored 11 Goals in the First Quarter

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Women's Lacrosse broke out of their early season slump in dramatic fashion against the Immaculata Mighty Macs.

The Pride improve to 1-3 on the season.

BY THE NUMBERS
  • Alex Krohn was making plays all day, finishing with 3 goals and 4 assists.
  • Gianna Scaliti also contributed significantly, tallying 3 goals, including one in the fourth quarter.
  • Jordyn Edwards had a strong all-around performance with 2 goals and 2 assists.
  • Clark Trowbridge found the back of the net twice while also securing 6 draw controls.
  • Jessica Mantz scored twice and added a caused turnover.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Widener stormed out to a commanding lead with 11 goals in the opening frame. Clark Trowbridge set the tone early with the first goal at 14:15, assisted by Chloe Mingioni. The offense continued to fire on all cylinders, with Jordyn Edwards, Alex Krohn, and Ava Leporati each contributing multiple scores. By the end of the quarter, Widener had complete control with an 11-0 advantage.
  • Widener extended its dominance, adding 4 more goals while continuing to shut out Immaculata. Rylie Christy and Chloe Mingioni each found the back of the net, while Alyssa Ruggiero and Jessica Mantz added goals to push the lead to 15-0 at halftime.
  • The scoring slowed down slightly in the third, but Widener remained in control. Alex Krohn notched another goal, and Jessica Mantz scored off an assist from Krohn. The defense held strong, denying the Mighty Macs only shot on goal, keeping the shutout intact.
  • Widener closed out the game with 4 more goals, including late scores from Lucia Visalli and Jarliah Ferko. Immaculata managed to break through for their lone goal of the night with 5:12 remaining, but it was far too little, too late. Widener capped off the dominant 21-1 victory with one final goal from Reagan Vidrine with just 5 seconds left on the clock.
