CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Baseball split it's Saturday conference double header against the Stevenson University Mustangs.
The Pride move to 12-8 on the season and 5-1 in the MAC Commonwealth.
BY THE NUMBERS GAME 1
- Sean Curran once again delivered a dominant start, throwing a complete game shutout only allowing six hits and striking out seven.
- Jack Balcer led the Pride in hits, going 2-4 with a home run and two RBIs.
- Kevin Bukowski went 1-3 with a home run

- Jack Balcer stayed hot in game two, going 3-5 with a double and one RBI.
- Ryan Bauerle had a big day. going 3-5 with a double and a triple.
- Sean Burke showed off his power, going 2-4 with a home run and two RBIs.
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
- After a quiet first inning, Widener struck first in this conference doubleheader. In the top of the second, after a Chris Mckenna double, Ryan Madden singled up the middle to give the Pride a 1-0 lead. Jack Balcer immediately followed this up with a two-run shot to right field to give the Pride a 3-0 lead. Kevin Bukowski added on the lead in the top of the third with a solo shot to left field.
- The Pride offense was unable to push across any more runs after the Bukowski home run, but it did not matter. Sean Curran was locked in from the first pitch of the game. Curran would be the only pitcher the Pride needed in game one as he tossed a complete game shut out giving the Pride their fourth conference win in a row.
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 2
- Just like game one, Widener took an early lead in the top of the second. Ryan Bauerle led off the inning with a triple and then Sean Burke capitalized, blasting a two-run home run to right field. Steven would get their first runs of the day in the bottom of the third, hitting a three-run home run to take the lead.
- After a few quiet innings from both sides, the Pride bats came back to life in the top of the sixth. After Ryan Bauerle and Sean Burke singled, Brendan Raven drove them in with double to left center. Nick Nigro then connected on a double of his own to bring in another run. Widener would score one more run before the inning wrapped up, giving them a 6-3 lead. Steven responded with one run in the bottom of the eighth before scoring three runs in the bottom of the ninth to walk it off and hand Widener its first conference loss.

th. First pitch is set for 3:30pm.
