Widener's offense started slowly but came alive in the second inning. After a quiet first, Elizabeth Carney got the Pride on the board in the second with a clutch two-run hit. In the third inning, Widener tacked on three more runs, highlighted by Katelyn Tong's towering home run that drove in three. Despite a brief defensive challenge, Bella Smith provided stability on the mound, helping Widener hold a 5-4 lead by the end of the third. A single run in the fifth, thanks to an RBI knock by Caitlyn Katchur, extended the lead to 6-4.Â

The decisive moment came in the seventh when Widener's bats exploded for an eight-run inning, effectively putting the game out of reach. Carney blasted a three-run home run, pushing his RBI total to five, while Jocelin Mayorga and Kaelin Kuester added key hits to drive in more runs. On the mound, Smith dominated in relief, striking out five and limiting Notre Dame's offense in the final innings. With the late offensive surge, Widener secured a commanding 14-7 victory.Â

After two scoreless frames, the Pride erupted for four runs in the third, featuring a home run from Elizabeth Carney and key hits from Caitlyn Katchur and Sara Clymer. In the fourth inning, Kaelin Kuester added to the lead with a two-run home run, giving Widener a comfortable cushion. Meanwhile, Katchur kept Notre Dame in check on the mound, pitching efficiently through the first four innings and surrendering just a single run. By the end of the fourth, Widener led 5-1.Â

The Pride put the game away in the fifth inning, scoring five more runs to put the game out of reach.
