HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a quiet first inning from both offenses, Ursinus rallied in the bottom of the second, scoring four runs putting Widener in an early hole. Both offenses would go quiet again until the top of the fifth where Chris Mckenna would lead off the inning with a double followed up by a few Ursinus mistakes before Jack Balcer stepped up to the plate. Balcer would double to center field to bring in the Pride's first two runs of the game. Jon Aman would immediately follow that up with a two run double of his own to tie the score at four.
- The Pride would take their first lead of the game in the top of the seventh on a Kevin Bukowski RBI single. Ursinus quickly responded, scoring two runs in the bottom of the inning to take back the lead. Brian Fitzpatrick came up clutch in the top of the eighth tying the game back up with a single through the right side. Neither side would be able to push another run across and the game would go into extras all tied up at six.
- After the first two Widener batters were retired, Brendan Raven and Chis Mckenna would connect on back-to-back hits to put runners on second and third. Brian Fitzpatrick came through in the clutch once again with a two RBI single. Jack Balcer would follow this up with his third hit of the day to give Widener another run. Kevin Bukowski would then draw a walk to bring in the tenth run and then Ryan Bauerle delivered the dagger, hitting a three run double down the left field line to give Widener a seven run tenth inning. Ursinus was able to scratch across one run in the bottom of the tenth, but it was to little, to late as Widener walked away with a 13-8 road win.
