The start the season 2-0 on the season and remain 0-0 in conference play.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED IN GAME ONEÂ

Widener wasted no time getting on the board, scoring three runs in the first inning to set the tone. Paris Balilonis got things started with a double and later came around to score, while Kaelin Kuester capped off the inning with an RBI hit. The Pride continued their offensive barrage with four more runs in the second, as Jocelin Mayorga and Alyssa Gomez each reached base and helped extend the lead. A five-run third inning put Widener in complete control, with Kuester delivering the biggest blow – a three-run home run to left field that put the Pride ahead 12-0. Katelyn Tong also contributed in the third with a clutch RBI triple, while Elizabeth Carney added an RBI hit to keep the momentum rolling.Â

From the bottom of the fourth inning onward, Widener's defense and pitching ensured there would be no comeback attempt. Caitlyn Katchur started the game in the circle, striking out five in 2.2 innings, while Amanda Danz came in to shut down Cedar Crest's offense, pitching 2.1 scoreless innings to close out the game. Cedar Crest managed to scratch across two runs in the bottom of the third, but it was far from enough to overcome the dominant performance by the Pride. Widener's balanced attack and strong pitching secured the run-rule victory in just five innings.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED IN GAME TWOÂ

The second game of the doubleheader started similarly, with Widener grabbing an early lead with a run in the first inning. Elizabeth Carney led off with a hit and later scored to put the Pride ahead. After a quiet second inning, the offense ignited in the third, plating three runs thanks to Jocelin Mayorga's RBI double and Paris Balilonis' clutch two-run double. The Pride added another run in the fourth, pushing the lead to 5-0. Kaelin Kuester remained a key force at the plate, driving in two runs on a base hit in the third and keeping the momentum in Widener's favor.Â

Cedar Crest got on the board with a lone run in the bottom of the fourth, but it was all Widener the rest of the way. The Pride responded immediately with three runs in the fifth, highlighted by Carney's triple and RBI single. A four-run seventh inning, fueled by Katchur's RBI double and Katelyn Tong's three-hit game, put the game completely out of reach. Widener's pitching staff held strong, with Jocelin Mayorga working 1.1 shutout innings and Tong striking out two in the final frame. The Pride's 18-hit explosion and lockdown pitching secured their second dominant win of the day, completing the sweep in style.Â
