CHESTER, Pa. - The Widener Women's Volleyball team battle hard but come up short, losing in straight sets to Swarthmore College.
Widener drops to 13–12 on the year and remains 4–2 in conference play.

Widener found some rhythm late in the first set after a tough start, highlighted by a strong block from Kaitlyn Guessford and a kill from Kramer. Kristen Vacca added key kills in the middle of the frame, while Chronister closed with a service ace to spark some momentum. Despite the late push, the Pride fell short in the opening set, 25–10.

The Pride came out strong in the second set, showing more consistency on both sides of the ball. Guessford, Mira Canali, Vacca, and Kramer led a mid-set surge with a series of kills that tied the score at 10–10 and again at 20–20. Barnes added back-to-back service aces to keep the pressure on, while Chronister and Azira Benjamin kept the offense flowing. Despite the improved play and late momentum, the Pride dropped the close set, 25–22.

Widener battled hard in the final set, trading points throughout. Kramer, Guessford, and Canali powered the offense early with key kills. A clutch block from Vacca and Airyn Zimmerman tied things up midway through. Barnes sparked another rally with a service ace and strong back-row play, while Chronister kept the ball moving with consistent setting. Despite keeping it close down the stretch, the Pride couldn't hold off Swarthmore's final push, falling 25–23 to close out the match.
