HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST STEVENSON
- DeHaven was aggressive in the opening seconds of the game. She won the draw control, took a shot, got the ground ball, and scored within 16 seconds. Both teams ran into some turnovers before Scott put the Pride up 2-0. Clark Trowbridge dished the assist. DeHaven and Scott would continue hurling shots at Stevenson's goalie, but the Mustangs answered with two goals in the back half of the quarter. At the end of the first quarter, the score was knotted at 2-2.
- Widener strung together good offensive drives in the second quarter. After a saved shot by Stevenson, Ava Leporati got past the goalie to break the tie. Alex Krohn assisted on the free-position attempt. Rosini made multiple saves as Widener got more shots up as well. Four goals were scored in the last five minutes of the half, three of which came from the Mustangs. The Pride's came from Jessica Mantz on a free position. At the break, Stevenson led 5-4.
- The Pride had a few shots in the first minutes of the third quarter after DeHaven caused a turnover. Both sides saw successful clears, and Trowbridge would use one to tie the game up at five. As Rosini made a save on a free position with under a minute to go, DeHaven went down the field and put up a shot before the clock expired. However, it was offline. It was 5-5 after three.
- Stevenson regained the lead with two goals with the fourth quarter underway. DeHaven countered with a goal from Scott to cut the deficit to one. Stevenson's offense took shots against Rosini, which were unsuccessful. The Pride had a chance to send the game to overtime when the Mustangs turned the ball over and committed a foul with under 30 seconds left. Even though Widener had a free-position shot, it did not reach the back of the net. Stevenson won 7-6.
