  • Sean Curran went all seven innings on the mound. He allowed just one run and struck out five batters in 104 pitches.
BY THE NUMBERS: GAME 2

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST HOOD

Game 1
  • Both teams had runners on base early in the game, but both defenses put up a good showing. Curran struck out the final batter of the second inning with two men on base. It was on a dropped third strike. Widener and Hood would get a runner to third base in the third inning, but a groundout ended both attempts. After three, the game was scoreless.
  • In the fourth inning, no one budged. Each saw only one hit for their offense in the inning, and both left runners on base. However, Widener broke through in the top of the fifth. With bases loaded, and with a Hood pitching change, Bukowski earned an RBI on a walk. The sixth inning saw Savkov's two-RBI single put them up 3-0. Meanwhile, Curran kept only three Hood batters to the plate in both the fifth and sixth innings. He struck out two. Both sides exchanged a score in the seventh. Jon Aman had an RBI single. Curran struck out the final batter, as the Pride took game one 4-1.
Game 2
  • After a quick opening sequence for the Pride's offense, the defense made a good play in the bottom of the inning. They threw out a runner going from third to home on a fielder's choice. For the first half of the game, Widener's offense struggled to get more than three batters to the plate per half-inning. The Blazers put the first runs on the board with a two-RBI single in the bottom of the second. The Pride kept the Blazers in check after that score, and it was a 2-0 game through four.
  • A Raven RBI single in the fifth scored Ryan Bauerle. This would cut the deficit in half. Bukowski tied the game in the sixth with his own RBI single. The Pride's defense did not allow more than three batters to the plate in the fifth and sixth. Aidan O'Brien came in to pitch for Conlan in the bottom of the seventh. O'Brien escaped the inning with two men on base. Both sides had chances to break the tie as the game went into the last innings, but a winner was not declared through nine. The Pride had two men on base in the top of the 10th, but a Hood RBI single in the bottom of the inning was the game-winner. Hood won 3-2. But, the Pride won two of three games in the series.
