YORK, Pa. – Women's Soccer was unable to mount a comeback against the York College Spartans.
 
The Pride fall to 6-8-0 in the regular season and 2-2 in the MAC Commonwealth.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
 

• The Pride took 9 shots (3 on goal). The Spartans took 16 shots (6 on goal).
• Both teams had 3 saves each
• Widener committed 3 fouls while York committed 7.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 

• In their first road match up in over two weeks, The Pride came out and took two early shots looking to get ahead early. But The Spartans repelled against the Widener offensive and opened the scoring at the 19:58 mark took take a one to nothing lead. York would take little time to add on to their lead as they scored their second goal of the day at the 27:20 mark. York would eventually add their third goal of the half at the 37:45 mark, leaving The Pride with a large deficit to overcome after halftime.

 

• After only attempting two shots in the first half, Widener came out looking improved on offense. The Pride were able to put up seven shots in the second half. The Pride defense was also able to make adjustments at the half, shutting out The Spartans in the second half and only allowing five shots on goal. The Pride were unable to mount a comeback though and would fall three to zero.

Widener will Travel to Frederick, Md. to face off against Hood College on Saturday, October 26th. Game time is set for 4:00pm.
