ORLANDO, Fla. – Widener Cheerleading set to take on the UCA College Nationals on Jan. 12-14 at the Walt Disney World Resort.
The UCA College Cheerleading Nationals is set to culminate the season for Widener Cheerleader. This year's nationals mark the 35
th competition to crown the "most prestigious collegiate national championship in the country and the perfect opportunity for cheerleading and dance teams to get together and celebrate each other." (Courtesy of Varsity.com)
The Game Day Live performance consists of four elements—Band Chant, Situational Sideline, Crowd Leading and Fight Song—combined in a 3-minute performance by the pep band and cheerleaders, just like the current game day format. The Pride will compete in the Adventhealth Arena – North in the yellow group on Friday, Jan. 12 in the Open All Girl Game Day preliminaries. Competition time is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
On Saturday, the Pride return for the second day of competition in the Open All Girl semfinals at 2:24 p.m. in the Adventhealth Arena – North.
Widener has had success at UCA Nationals in recent years with silvers in 2019, 2020, and 2023 for the Open All Girl category.
