CHESTER, Pa. - Although the Pride's Saturday matinee against the York College Spartans was heading for a scoreless tie, York scored in the 89th minute to give Widener a 1-0 loss.
The Pride are 2-4-4 on the season. They are 0-1 against MAC opponents.
BY THE NUMBERS
- The Pride had 10 shots (seven on goal), while the Spartans had 19 shots (10 on goal).
- York had six fouls, compared to just five from Widener.
- In goal, Samantha Coon had nine saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST YORK
- Madison Blackshire led the Pride with two shots (one on goal).
- Each of Widener's seven shots on goal were recorded by a different player.
- Widener played good defense throughout the match. However, Morgan Joyce of York got a shot through the net at 89:02 to put them up 1-0.
- A yellow card was assessed on York in the first half.
- The Pride were balanced in both halves, in regards to shooting. They took five shots in each half.
