HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Pride strike first against the Lycoming Warriors on a 6:39 drive that began on the first kickoff of the game. Diehl drove the offense down the field and took it himself for a 1-yard rush. The offense capped off the drive with a 93-yard drive on 16 plays.
  • Widener's defense held the Warriors to nearly 100 yards in the first which led the Pride to a march down the field and took less than two minutes to give Hostetter a go-ahead touchdown to cap a 60-yard drive. An interception by Michael Schoenleber sent the Warriors offense to the sideline. With just over a minute left in the half Zach Vanscovich snagged a three-yard pass over the middle to give the Pride a 14-point lead and end a quick three play 14-yard drive.
  • A Warrior touchdown was sandwiched with three Pride scores. A 17-yard Plankenhorn punt set the Blue and Gold up with good field position on the Lycoming 38. Thompson got things going with a 12-yard run followed by a eight yard gain right up the gut to set the offense up for a Hostetter touchdown.
  • Bryce Casey saw some reps as he ran for a 12-yard gain to set up a 21-yard dime to Hostetter for the final score of the game. A tip ball on the preceding Warrior offense with under one in the third allowed Murt to come away with an interception to send the Pride up 20 to the fourth.
  • Both sides held each other a scoreless in the fourth. The Pride defense stood strong to allow 78 Warrior yards while the Blue and Gold offense ran out the clock and sent the Warriors home with a 42-21 loss.
