Jamie DeHaven and
Katie Ward open the MAC Commonwealth Quarterfinal strong to push Widener women's lacrosse to a 9-6 win.
After the 9-6 win, the Pride move to 11-7 in the regular season and finish out the year with a 5-3 record in the MAC Commonwealth.

HOW IT HAPPENED IN THE QUARTERFINALS
The Pride open the game with a
Katie Ward goal to tie the game with a Minigoni assist. With a tie game, DeHaven opens the scoring gap as she scores with 8:39 remaining in the first. The next Pride goals from Ward and DeHaven give the Pride a 4-1 advantage going into the second quarter. Within the final minutes of the quarter, Mikayala Cox adds a caused turnover to give the Pride a scoring opportunity.
Opening the second quarter was an Albright goal to cut the lead in half. After a long scoring drought, DeHaven finds the back of the cage on a free position attempt. Rosini adds saves to her stats as she kept the Lions silent. Following a bombard of Lions shots, the Pride call timeout to regroup. Right out of the timeout, DeHaven finds the cage again to make the score 5-2. A fast draw control from
Clark Trowbridge sends the Pride in attack for another DeHaven goal. The Blue and Gold headed into half with a 6-2 lead.
Coming out of half, the Lions struck first. A free position save from Rosini gave the Pride an offensive move. After a successful clear, Ward shoots and scores on a solo attempt to make the score 7-3. As 7:27 hit on the clock,
Catherine Scott scores on Mingioni's second assist of the game to make the score 8-4. As the third was about to expire, Trowbridge adds one to the Pride score on a solo shot to go into the fourth up five.
For three straight quarters, the Lions strike first. A scoreless fourth quarter put pressure on the defense to step up and they did so as Rosini added numerous saves to keep the Lions to two points. A Lions timeout with 2:25 on the clock gave another life to the attacking Lions as they scored to make the score 9-6. The Pride defense stood strong to end the game forcing a Lions yellow card. The final was Chester, Pa. was 9-6 in favor of the Pride.
