YORK, Pa. - The Widener men's lacrosse team battled hard against MAC conference opponent York but came up short, walking away with a 8-22 loss.
The Pride finishes their regular season with an 8-8 record overall and 5-3 in MAC conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST YORK
The Pride defense was challenged right away as the Spartans scored six goals in the opening ten minutes. Angus Ballentine found a way to get the Pride on the board and scored with 4:30 on the clock. The Spartans went on to score four more goals and finish the first period ahead, 10-1.
Coming out in the second period looking to get their offense moving, Connor Heisman scored off a Nicholas Knepp assist. Taking it down to the final few seconds of the half, Sam Haverstom found the back of the net from a pass from Wesley Sporer and the Pride and Spartans head to halftime with a score of 13-3.
The Pride came out in the third ready to battle and scored a goal two minutes in as Sporer found Haverstrom again for a Blue and Gold goal. Two minutes later, Wesley Sporer scored unassisted, putting the score at 15-5. Heisman and Colin Wingate each scored for the Pride and finished the third period with a score of 17-7.
The final Pride goal of the game was scored by Heisman with just under fourteen minutes remaining in the game. The Spartans scored four more goals and walked away with the win.
