HOW IT HAPPENED IN QUICK STADIUM

Despite falling down two, Heisman got the Pride on the board with a rip at 9:48 of the quarter. The Mules quickly answer and force the Pride to make a goalie change. With Keegan Billie in the cage, Billie made his first save with 9:10 on the clock. A dish from Matt Buckley gave Bryant Maits a ball that found the back of the cage to make the score 3-2 in favor of the Mules. Off setting penalties give the Mules a chance to call timeout. After a back and forth battle and shots from both sides, the quarter concluded with a 4-2 Mules advantage.

The Mules opened with a faceoff victory but quickly turned the ball over allowing Jacob Shannon to scoop it. Three back to back shots from the Pride test the Mules goalie but after a failed clear and caused turnover by Heisman the Pride were on the board first in the second. The Mules quickly answered but not quick enough as Buckley ripped one to even out the recent scoring summary. With just under half remaining, Heisman found his second goal from a Buckley pass. Heisman's goal would send the Pride on a 3-0 run to end the quarter with goals from Nick DiCicco and a Buckley man up goal. At half the Pride and Mules were tied at seven.

The Pride continued the attack with another 3-0 run to start the third quarter. Heisman's man up goal gave the Pride their first advantage of the game from a Maits pass. Buckley would add another to his name with 10:40 on the clock. A Billie save would allow the Pride to march down the field to allow Heisman to score once again making the score 10-7 forcing a Mules timeout. A penalty on Drew Venit would force the team to be man down for a minute due to slashing, but Wesley Sporer took things into his own hands to score a man down on a long ball from Billie. The Pride would add two goals within two minutes from DiCicco and Samuel Haverstrom. Haverstrom's goal was from a Nicholas Knepp ball to give the Pride a four-point advantage.

Opening the fourth quarter was three quick goals from the Mules. After a Mules turnover, DiCicco nailed the crossbar but seconds later adjusted to find the back of the cage to tie the game at 14. DiCicco's goal would set the Pride up to score two more and silence the Mules offense. A penalty on Colby's Jackson Alvord gave Heisman a man up goal from a Knepp pass. Another two penalties on the Mules would allow Widener to call timeout to adjust. Right out of the timeout, Heisman found his fifth goal from Sporer to make the score 16-14 with just under six on the clock. The Pride would milk the clock when they could and Billie did his job and kept the Mules offense silent with two saves with under a minute of play. The Pride would end the day with a 16-14 victory, 47 shots to the Mules 44, and 6 of 11 on extra man opportunities.
