BY THE NUMBERS
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST SHENANDOAH

Capitalizing off a turnover and a groundball pick up by Katie Rosini, the Pride wasted no time to get a goal as Annalee Doyle scored for Widener a minute into the game off a Clark Trowbridge assist. Less than two minutes later, Jamie DeHaven found the back of the net and put the score at 2-0 to start the first period. With ten minutes on the clock, the Hornets quickly answered with two goals of their own, tiying the score at 2-2. Shenandoah found a way to score again, but DeHaven quickly answered with another goal to tie the score at 3-3. Katie Ward scored her second goal off a Catherine Scott assist to finish the period out, tied up at 4-4.

The second period saw another goal off the jump from DeHaven. With 6:01 on the clock, the Horents answered with a goal of their own to tie the score at 5-5, and a minute later, scored another goal to take the lead. The Pride and the Horents finish the period out with the score sitting at 6-5 in favor of the Hornets.

Looking to take over the lead coming out of halftime, Katie Ward takes the first step by tying the score, 6-6, with another goal. Less than a minute later, Ward scored again and the Pride takes the lead with 12:27 remaining in the third period. Causing a turnover and turning it into a goal, DeHaven scored again with 8:34 on the clock. The Pride finish the third period with one last goal by Chloe Minigioni, man-up, and held a 9-7 lead.

The final period proved to be a challenge for the Pride defense as the Hornets came out and scored five goals, unanswered. With the score sitting at 9-12 in favor of the Hornets, and 3:42 remaining in the game, Katie Ward found the back of the net to lessen their opponent's lead. A successful free-positon shot by Catherine Scott brought the score to 10-12 with 2:52 remaining but there just was not enough time for the Pride offense to make a comeback. The Pride walks away with a 13-11 loss against the Hornets.
