CHESTER, Pa. – After a 61-52 road win against the Lebanon Valley Dutchmen on Monday, the Pride extended their playoff run to the conference semifinals. They will play against the Messiah University Falcons.
Including Monday's win, the Pride are now 11-15 on the season. They have won three of their last four games. Against the Dutchmen,
Jordan D'Ambrosio scored a team-high 22 points. Widener shot 40.7% for the game.
The Falcons enter this matchup with a blistering 23-2 record, going 16-0 in the conference and 12-0 at home. Messiah defeated Lebanon Valley 55-49 in their final game of the regular season, which was at home.
The Pride and the Falcons saw one another twice this season, but Messiah walked away with both wins. The Falcons got a 55-43 win at Widener on Dec. 3. They also won 67-52 on their court in Mechanicsburg, Pa. on Jan. 21.
Additionally, Messiah defended home court versus Widener in last year's postseason, 69-55, to win the MAC Final.
The winner of this game will play either Alvernia or Albright on Saturday, Feb. 25 in the conference final.
