NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Widener Men's Basketball team heads into the 2023 season ranked first in the MAC Commonwealth Coaches' Poll.
The Pride earn 49 points with seven first place votes. The 18-9 Eastern Eagles snagged second with 43 points while Hood and York tied for third with 31 points.
During the 2023-24 season, the Pride finished out the season with a 19-9 (11-5 MAC Commonwealth) record, took home a MAC Commonwealth championship title against Alvernia in a 74-69 final, and headed to Keane, N.H. for a trip to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2009.
This season, the Blue and Gold open with their annual Tip-Off for Autism Awareness Tournament on Nov. 10-11.
