CHESTER, Pa. - Field Hockey gets a narrow 1-0 win at home over conference rival Eastern University. 

The Pride improve to 7-9 on the season and move up to 3-3 in conference play. 

BY THE NUMBERS 

• Margaret Howe-Consiglio with the goal that would win the game

• The defense led by goalkeeper Abby Blake have their second shutout in three games 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• The Pride drew six corner strokes in the first quarter, but the game remained scoreless going into the second 

• Early in the second quarter, Juliana Sanchez finds Margaret Howe-Consiglio for the goal as the Pride take a 1-0 lead into halftime 

• Widener's defense shined in the second half, not allowing a single shot in the third quarter to keep the score 1-0 going into the fourth 

• Despite drawing two cards in the fourth quarter, Widener's dominant defense stood strong and held off the Eagles as the Pride win the game 1-0

The Pride will look to extend their two-game home win streak as they take on Alvernia in the final game of the regular season. That game will be held at Dixon Field on Saturday, October 28th.
