JERSEY CITY, N.J. - Widener bounces back in a big way with a 3-0 sweep against New Jersey City on the road. 

The Pride improve to 11-7 on the year and remain 1-3 in conference play. Their next conference match will be at home against Alvernia on October 18th.

• Shannon Toomey and Lilyanna Martucci tie with a team-best 10 kills 

• Megan Barthol with another impressive day passing, this time for 32 assists 

• Rachel DiCarlo's 17 digs were good for the team lead 

• The teams four total blocks beat the Knights total of three 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• The Pride took an early 10-5 lead in set one and never looked back, getting a 25-13 win 

• The second set took extra time, but back-to-back Shannon Toomey kills gives Widener a 28-26 victory 

• Down 14-16 in the third set, the Pride score seven points in a row to the set and match 25-18 

UP NEXT 

The Pride will return home to face Immaculata University as a part of homecoming weekend. That game will be Friday, October 13th at 7pm.
