CHESTER, Pa. - The Widener University women's volleyball team posted its fourth straight win after it swept Rutgers-Newark, 25-17, 25-18, 25-10, on Friday night at Schwartz Athletic Center.
The Pride improved to 4-8 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST RUTGERS-NEWARK
- The Pride opened the match by going on a 11-5 run during the middle of the set to take a 21-10 lead and eventually win the game.
- In the second set, the Pride broke a 10-all tie by putting together a 15-8 run to end the game.
- In the final game, the Blue and Gold led wire-to-wire, winning 10 of the first 12 points en route to the sweep.
- Shannon Toomey led the Pride with 12 kills and three blocks.
- Megan Barthol dished out a match-high 29 assists.
- Abigail Herrin made an impact on the front line, totaling three blocks.
- Rachel DiCarlo paced the Pride with 13 digs.

Widener will host a tri-match on Saturday with Neumann and Goucher. The Pride will face Neumann at 11 a.m., then will take on Goucher at 3 p.m.
