MECHANICSBURG, Pa.- The Widener women's soccer team played it's final game of the season against No. 1 ranked Messiah Wednesday night at Shoemaker Field. The Pride earned its place in the first semifinal round of the MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament by beating Hood on Monday night, but were unable to come up with a victory against the top-seeded Messiah. Pride dropped the match to the Falcons 4-0 and conclude their season with a 9-7-4 overall record and 4-3-1 record in MAC conference play.
HERE'S HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST MESSIAH
-The Falcons were quick to get on the board, scoring their first two goals in the first seven minutes of the match. The Pride defense was able to keep the Falcons to two for the remainder of the first half. The Falcons scored two more goals in the 51st and 55th minute of the match and walked away with a win.
-Two Pride players were in goal for the Blue and Gold, Samantha Coon played the majority of the match and tallied six saves and Ashton Houbary finished the game, tallying five saves.
