CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University women's volleyball come away with a MAC Commonwealth victory against Lebanon Valley College on its Dig Pink Match.
Prior to the match, the women's volleyball team took a moment to bring awareness to breast cancer and help raise funds for the Side-Out Foundation. This foundation helps fund research for metastatic breast cancer patients. The Pride finish by honoring one of their own, Ms. Mimi Hall.

The Pride's win improves them to 12-13 in the regular season and 4-3 in MAC Commonwealth play. After tonight's win, the Blue and Gold move to fourth in the conference just behind previously beaten Messiah and clinched their berth in the 2022 MAC Commonwealth tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED IN THE SCHWARTZ CENTER
- The Pride open strong with a quick victory in set 1 (25-18) and hold tough in the second set to fall to a three-point loss (25-22).
- The women answer right back with a dominating set 3 (25-12) to take a 2-1 lead going into set 4.
- Lebanon Valley responds with an 11-point differential in set 4, pushing the match to a fifth set.
- The Blue and Gold come out ready with a quick 8-4 lead at the midpoint court side switch. Leading into the set flip, Emily Miller sends the Pride on a 4-0 run. After the flip, Rachel DiCarlo takes the Pride on a 3-0 run forcing the Flying Dutchmen on their heels.
- Widener ends the match with a 15-8 set 5 victory and 3-2 in sets tonight.
- Shelby Motz added to her ace total with four.
- Miller led the Pride in kills (8) and blocks (5). Teammate Isabella Ricevuto also contributed to Widener kills with eight.
- Megan Barthol kept the pride in the game with 29 assists and 11 digs.
- On the evening, the Pride recorded 45 digs and 35 kills.

Widener remains home on Thursday, Oct 27 as they host Senior Night and another MAC Commonwealth matchup against Albright. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
