CHESTER, Pa. –
Jesse Schlosser became the all-time assists leader for the Widener field hockey team during its non-conference game against No. 2 Rowan on Wednesday night at Edith R. Dixon Field.
The Pride lost to the Profs, 5-1, and fell to 8-5 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ROWAN
- With Rowan leading, 5-0, after scoring four of its goals in the first half, Schlosser handed out her 26th career assist after Juliana Sanchez scored off her pass three minutes into the fourth period. By doing so, the graduate student surpassed former standout Missy Pappas, who had 25 assists from 2003-06.
- Schlosser's assist gave her nine assists for the season. The Downingtown, Pa. native's assist allowed her to become the fourth Widener player to dish out nine or more assists in a season, joining Kelly Eash (11 in 2007), Suzie Momenee (nine in 1996) and Jenny Garell (nine in 1999).
- Schlosser also is tied for eighth in career points with 61.
- Lily Rejrat and Abby Blake did all they could in goal against the Profs. Blake led the way with seven saves in the second half, while Rejrat had two in the first half.
