CHESTER, Pa. - Due to severe weather forecasts, Widener University's field hockey team, men's soccer team, and men's and women's cross country teams have postponed their respective events on Wednesday.
The field hockey team was supposed to Swarthmore at Swarthmore College at 5 p.m. Now, the Pride's game against the Garnet will take place on Thursday at 7 p.m.
The men's soccer team was set to host Swarthmore College at 7 p.m. Now, the Pride will face the Garnet on Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. on Elizabeth J. Hirschmann Field at Leslie C. Quick Stadium.
The men's soccer team will open its season on Saturday when it hosts Babson College in the Garnet Alumni Classic at 5 p.m. on Elizabeth J. Hirschmann Field at Leslie C. Quick Stadium.
The men's cross country team was supposed to open the season at Johns Hopkins, while the women's cross country squad was supposed to start the year at the Bryn Mawr Invitational. The two teams will not be competing this week. Instead, the women's cross country team will open its season on Sept. 11 at Lebanon Valley, while the men's cross country team will begin the year at the Main Line Invitational at Haverford on Sept. 17.
