FREDERICK, Md. – 
Alex Savkov totaled three hits and 
Anthony Boccio drove in two runs in the doubleheader, but the Widener University baseball team dropped a pair of games to the Hood Blazers, falling 10-5 in game one and 7-3 in game two.
 
GAME ONE NOTES
	- Widener got off to a good start, pushing across a run in the top of the first as Boccio doubled home Kyle Brex, who reached on an error.
 
	- Hood then broke out the bats, scoring 10 times in the first five inning.
 
	- The Pride closed the gap in the sixth as Justin Costanzo connected on his second homer of the season, a three-run shot. In the seventh, Alex Savkov singled home Sam Lesher who began the inning getting hit by a pitch.
 
	- Out of the bullpen, Aiden Weitzel made his collegiate debut with a perfect inning, striking out one.
 
 
GAME TWO NOTES
	- Widener got off to a good start in the afternoon contest as the Pride struck first in the second game with a Boccio double, scoring Brex and Tommy McParland, giving WU a 2-0 lead.
 
	- After Hood scored three in the fourth, the Blue and Gold tied it in the sixth. With two outs, Bryce Fremgen tripled followed by a single from Nick Barenz, knotting the game at 3-3.
 
	- The Blazers rallied, scoring three in the seventh and one in the eighth to create the final score.
 
 
UP NEXT
The two teams close the regular season on Saturday, April 24 with a doubleheader at Widener. Prior to the noon first pitch, the Pride will hold it's senior day ceremony, beginning at6 11:40 a.m.
