CHESTER, Pa. - The Widener University women's lacrosse team posted 12 caused turnovers, but the Pride was edged by the Albright Lions 10-9 on Wednesday night at Dixon Field. 

BY THE NUMBERS

• The 12 CT were the second most this season for Widener, trailing only 13 forced against FDU-Florham in the 2021 opener.
• Caroline Kelley and Katie Ward each had a pair of goals for the Pride. Gab Cohen, Amber Bretz, Emma DiGilio, Alexis Colella, and Chelsea Forsyth all scored once. 
• DiGilio added two assists. 
• Maddie Medve made nine saves and had two caused turnovers. Grace Lindberger also had two CT. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After conceding the first goal of the game, goals by Kelley, Bretz, Colella, and Ward put the Blue and Gold up 4-1 just past the midway point of the first half. 
• Albright came back, scoring three unanswered, tying the contest at 4-4 late in the opening frame. 
• Starting the second half, the teams traded goals with Cohen scoring for Widener at the 20:55 mark, putting WU up 7-6. 
• The Lions followed by tallying four of the next five to take a 10-8 lead. 
• Widener had one last push as Kelley scored shorthanded with 1:36 to go, but Albright won the ensuing draw control and held onto the ball in the waning moments.
